Heat detector

User manual

Model: KD-705LG

1. Brief Introduction

The KD-705LG/H heat detector (hereinafter referred to as the detector) is designed to detect temperature rise caused by open flames with no or very little smoke. The detector has rapid temperature response, high accuracy and good linearity.

2. Characteristics and parameters

◆Use 1.5V*2 7#batteries (AAA LR03,1300mAh).

◆Temperature-sensitive detection alarm for temperature rise incidents.

◆Adopt wireless radio frequency technology.

◆When temperature changes is detected in the monitoring area, the detector and other networked detectors will alarm.

◆The alarm tone is gradually increased, and the initial alarm sound pressure is no more than 45 dB/3m.

◆Red indication of alarm status.

◆Self-test can make sound and light alarm signal.

4. Network operation

4.l  Select one of the heat detectors as the host. Press the TEST button twice in succession, and the green LED will be on, indicating that this host is waiting for other detectors to be interconnected to send data.

4.2  Select another heat detector. Press the TEST button twice in succession, and the green LED of the host and this detector will flash quickly several times. That means this detector has been networked successfully. We can repeat this operation until all the other detectors are networked. One minute later, the green LED of the host will go out, and enter normal detection state. Or you can press the TEST button of the host again, and the green LED of the host will also go out, and enter normal detection state.

5. Test

The product enters a normal working state after being powered up. The red LED flashes once every 35 seconds. When the TEST button is pressed, the detector emits a gradually decreasing alarm tone, and at the same time the red LED flashes quickly. This indicates that the detector is working properly. If there are any networked detectors, the other networked detectors will also alarm together 5 seconds later.

6. Installation

6.1 Indoor installation

6.1.1 The heat detecor’s coverage area is not greater than 20m2 and the installation height is not higher than 6m.

6.1.2 Ceiling mounted, with the center of the heat detector located 40cm or more away from the wall. (If there are room beams, it is more than 40cm away from the room beams).

6.2.3 Where there are air vents such as air conditioners, the center of the heat detector should be more than 1.5m away from the air vents or choose another suitable location.

6.3.4 Keep as far away from the lighting as possible (about 50cm).

6.2 Do not install in the following locations. (It may cause misoperation, malfunction or detection lag.)

6.2.1 Places directly above or near heating outlets, microwave ovens, cookers. Please install in places where the ambient temperature is below 50°C.

6.2.2 Stairway corridors.

6.2.3 Places where the heat detector may be affected by steam.

6.2.4 Do not install in indoor places where the temperature is below -10°C or above 50°C. A temperature below -10°C may cause the battery voltage to become low and lead to a low battery warning or failure to work properly.

6.2.5 Places directly above or near the luminaire. There is a risk that the heat detector may be blocked or interfered with by the lighting and may not detect or communication is affected.

6.2.6 In bathrooms or places with condensation or water droplets.

6.2.7 Do not install in a place where the temperature rises sharply due to direct sunlight. Please install in a place where the ambient temperature is below 50°C.

6.2.8 Do not install outdoors. The KD-705LG/H heat detector is an indoor special device.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Weekly testing is recommended.

7.2 In self-test, if the detector is working properly, the red LED flashes once every 35 seconds.

7.3 When the battery is low, the detector will beep about every 35 seconds and the red LED will flash once.

7.4 If the product does not work properly, please check the product according to 8 Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting. If the detector still fails to operate correctly, please do not disassemble it by yourself, but seek the advice and help of the manufacturer.

Note: When reinstalling the detector, the detector should be tested to ensure that the detector works properly.

9. Notice

9.1 The product is not suitable for installation in hot, humid place like kitchen or bathroom.

9.2 When installing the detector, please note that there should be no objects blocking the flash or sound of the detector.

10. Notes on Disposal

10.1 Packaging consists of recyclable materials and should be recycled wherever possible.

10.2 Used batteries and electrical waste cannot be discarded together with general household waste.
