User Manual
1. Brief introduction
KD-122LE Wireless Interconnectable Smoke Alarm is a portable, photoelectric smoke alarm with low power consumption. Internal precise analog circuit and digital circuit make the detection work more stable and reliable. It has interconnection function using radio frequency link, which means when one unit makes alarm, other interconnected units within the interlink range will alarm at the same time.

4. Installation
a. Hold the mounting plate against the selected installation position on the ceiling, and mark the center of two screw holes with a pencil. Drill holes through the pencil marks and use the enclosed screws and anchors to secure the mounting plate.
b. Install the batteries according to Figure 3, making sure the polarity matches the markings.
c. Insert the hooks of the mounting plate to the slots of the alarm. Rotate the alarm clockwise until it snaps into place.
d. You can move the alarm to a new location by rotating the alarm counter-clockwise, then removing the screws and repeating the instructions in 5.2a to 5.2c in the new location.
Replacing battery
When low battery warning is made (please refer to section 6. Function), please replace the batteries immediately.
Turn the alarm anticlockwise and remove it from the mounting plate. Take the batteries out.
Use battery type: LR03/AAA.
Install the new batteries according to 5.2b to 5.2c.
Whenever the batteries are replaced, test the operation of the alarm by pressing the TEST button. If beeps are made, it means the product works properly.
Recommended Locations for Smoke Alarms and Locations to Avoid
a. Recommended Locations for Smoke Alarms
Install at least one smoke alarm in every bedroom.
If you install the smoke alarm in a passageway whose width is less than 3m, install it in the middle and install one unit every 12m.
At least 1.5m from fluorescent lamp or neon lamp. (In case of electronic interference).
At least 3m from the bathroom.
At least 6m from the kitchen or stove.
At least 30cm from the lamps.
b. Locations to Avoid
In the garage. Products of combustion are present when you start your automobile.
Near fresh air vents, fans, air conditioner or other drafty areas.
In dusty areas. Dust particles may cause nuisance alarm or failure to alarm. The insect screen can only obstruct part of the insects or dust.
Areas where have metallic shield that will block RF signal.
In an area where the temperature may fall below 0℃ or rise above 40℃.
In humid areas. Bathroom. Kitchen.
5. Function
A. Wireless Interconnection
Supports up to 100 interconnected units (≥100m range in open space).
Interconnection process:
Secure units to mounting plates.
Select a host unit → Double press LEARN (LED turns green).
Other units: Press LEARN (LED turns red).
Press TEST on host → All connected units beep & flash green.
Exit setup (auto after 1 min or press LEARN to turn off indicators).
To cancel interconnection, press LEARN for 3 sec until rapid blinking.

6. Maintenance
Test the smoke alarm every week by pressing the test button.
Clean the smoke alarm with dry cloth every week. Never use water, cleaners or solvents to clean since they may damage the unit. Prevent foreign body from entering the unit.
If the smoke alarm is not working properly, don’t disassemble the unit yourself. Please seek the service of the professionals.
When end-of-life warning is made, please don’t use the product any more. Replace it with a new one.
7. Points for Abandoned Products
The packing material is renewable, so please do your best to recycle it.
The batteries and waste electrical appliances that have been used can not be abandoned with normal household garbage.
